![]() Please try to forgive my silence and apprehension in addressing this. You make more progress by actually releasing games and learning from that and starting projects with better direction based on what you've learned, than you do on spending too much on a single project.Įveryone.I'm still trying to piece together what happened to my project. But now, there are so many great games in the genre that have been released since then, that if this game ever actually gets released, nobody but the backers are going to care (and many of them have already lost interest in the project, it's been so long).Īlso, I can guarantee if Heart Forth, Alicia had come out in say 2017 (only 2 years late) and they had started on a sequel, the sequel could be out by now and would most likely be a noticeably higher quality game than the current Heart Forth, Alicia that is under development. And it probably would have if it had released within a year or two of when I played it. ![]() The sad thing is that after playing it back then, I thought this was going to be the new standard to beat in indie Metroidvanias. He seemed like a nice guy & he was very excited about their game. I played the game at E3 many years ago and talked to Alonso Martin. This is somebody's hobby and they're going to tinker with it indefinitely until they get bored and either release it or cancel it. Development hell doesn't mean that the game isn't being worked on - if it wasn't being worked on, it'd be a cancelled project, not in development hell. ![]() It talks about having to make the tough decisions to cut or delay content from the game, but they clearly haven't been doing this through development or they'd be released by now AND a paragraph or two later mentions that they still need to develop some minigames before the game releases (mini-games are generally the first thing on the chopping block when you're missing deadlines). The latest Kickstarter update STILL DOESN'T HAVE A RELEASE WINDOW.
